Well, it happened. The second big “IT” of the whoooole wedding process. I got my wedding dress!! I said “Yes” to the dress, I found the gown, what have you- I (mom/dad) purchased the dress I will be getting married in. Can you believe it? I sure can’t.
This past Saturday morning, I met my mother, Aunt Mary, Kate (MOH), Jane, and Amelia (flowergirl) at Platinum Bridal in Southboro. It had SO many more options than the first place and they could work with almost any budget. When I gave her my price point, I had plenty to choose from. The very first dress I tried on I absolutely loved…it was exactly what I wanted in every way. It was definitely going in the “maybe” pile. I went through about 10 other dresses and nothing compared. I felt bad saying “no” to them all just because it was a lot of work getting in, getting out, clipping, etc. I didn’t want to waste everyone’s time, so after I finished with what they had pulled for me, I put on the first dress.
You know how on SYTD they keep saying that you’ll have your “bridal moment”? Totally happens. I didn’t cry or anything, but I could NOT stop smiling. It just felt good (despite it being 98402934892349230 sizes too small). When I put a veil on, I was sold. It really does pull everything together. And the best part of the whole thing? It was waaaaay under budget. Like, so much so that I thought my mother was going to fall off her chair when she was told how much it was. I HIGHLY recommend this place to all future MA brides…I had such a great experience there. I’m a little sad that I won’t be able to see my dress for another 6 months, but it’s just one of the many things I have to look forward to!
I’d post the link to the dress, but just in case Drew ever reads this (yeah, right) I can’t allow myself to do that. I’m not taking ANY chances.
